This is the story of Melissa Grace Adams, that's me. I was born on the 16th July 2003, my entrance was very speedy as I was in a rush to see the world and for the world to see me! little did my parents know that this picture of innocence would grow to cause so much chaos!I have found out I can have more fun if I just have a power nap every now and then but not for longer than an hour, I still have to teach the rest of the family this trick.
I first managed to sit up on my own when I was 10 months old and stood up unaided when I was 22 months and took my first step on the 19th June 2005 when I was nearly 2. Watch out world here I come!,It's a good job they make me wear padding though as this walking thing is not as easy as you think. All the "know it all's" at the hospital comment on my funny walk, what a cheek. It is decided I need to wear special boots called pedro's to help me stop falling over. I am told I can't have bright pink so I don't think I will bother. I am now taking Melatonin to help me sleep, but I can still keep going long after my poor Mummy.
When I was 18 months old I was diagnosed by the "know it all's" as having Global developmental delay, especially speech and language skills, a left divergent squint, sleeping disorder and microcephaly, to name but a few on their ever growing list. little do they know I have a secret, but I am not going to let it out just yet!
I started nursery at Eccleston Mere school in September 2006, they make me wear a uniform but I think when you are as beautiful as me you look good in anything!!I have my own special helper at nursery Mrs Austin, it is great having another grown up to run around after me and tidy up my trail of destruction!My headmaster Mr Friend, is starting me on something called Brain solutions, I dont know what it is yet but it sounds like fun. I will let you all know.
I have had some tests to try to find out why I have the problems I do, I wish they would find out soon as I refuse to give them any more of my blood. I have also had a EEG, which meant I had to wear a silly hat while they measured my brainwaves! it wasn't too bad as I got to watch the television while it was all happening, of course I had to object at first, well you have to don't you? Well my true character has been uncovered, I am an angel! yes its official. On the 2nd November 2006, after some genetic testing they have discovered I have Angelman Syndrome(AS). so my secret is out at last. I think this will be the start of something big! mummy has that look in her eye!! watch out.
